Paint Samples & Colour Testing Options

Choosing a paint colour is much easier when you can test it properly first. At Colour Land, we offer several Benjamin Moore and in-store colour testing options to help homeowners, contractors, designers, and decorators compare colours before painting an entire room.

Whether you are testing whites, neutrals, exterior colours, cabinet colours, trim colours, or a full home palette, our team can help you choose the right sample option for your project.

Paint Sample Options Available In-Store

Benjamin Moore 236 mL Sample Pots

Benjamin Moore sample pots are a great way to test real paint colour on your wall before committing. Apply the sample in the room you are painting and check it during the day, evening, and under your actual lighting.

30 mL Eggshell Colour Testers

For smaller tests, quick comparisons, or early colour decisions, 30 mL colour testers are a convenient option. They are useful when you want to compare several similar colours side by side without buying larger sample pots.

Peel-and-Stick Colour Squared Samples

Peel-and-stick samples are a clean and simple way to test colour without painting directly on the wall. They can be moved around the room so you can see how the colour looks beside flooring, trim, cabinets, furniture, and different lighting conditions.

GRAIMONDI Painted Colour Boards

For selected GRAIMONDI colours, painted colour boards are available to help you compare curated colours in a more realistic, movable format. These are especially useful for comparing whites, warm neutrals, greiges, and soft designer colours.

FoamPRO Sample Boards

FoamPRO sample boards are ideal when you want to paint a larger sample and move it around the room. This helps you test the colour on different walls, beside trim, near windows, and in both natural and artificial light.

How to Test Paint Colours Properly

For best results, test colours in the actual space where they will be used. A colour can look very different depending on lighting, flooring, furniture, ceiling height, exposure, and surrounding finishes.

We recommend looking at your samples:

In natural daylight

In evening light

Beside your trim and doors

Beside flooring, tile, stone, or countertops

On more than one wall if the room has different light exposure

Before choosing a final paint colour, avoid judging from a tiny colour chip alone. Larger samples and movable sample boards give you a much better idea of how the colour will feel in the room.
